Production Photography
You are a story teller. I help you tell that story to potential patrons in captured moments. Production photos are the lifeblood of publicity; they catch attention and draw people in. I make it my mission to capture the essence of the overall story arch and deliver it through you to your patrons.
My business is the theater; I freelance as both a photographer and a lighting designer. In fact years ago, I became serious about photography in order to document my designs. I understand the design and production process and I am highly versed in theatrical story telling. It is the story that we sell to the audience and to tell it, we need more than just pretty pictures of actors. I typically shoot in real time during one of the dress rehearsals. I find that this results in the most dynamic and engaging shots. I can also, of course, capture excellent images during a pose-and-hold photo call if that is preferred. Sitting in the sixth row with a telephoto lens is a great way to get flat, boring photos. My preferred tools are very fast, wide prime lenses and I am in almost constant motion to find the ideal composition.
Words are no substitute for images. Please enjoy the selection of my theater photography below. Click “Contact” above to set up a consultation and portfolio review. Every theater is unique so I will work with you to tailor my services to best suit your needs and your budget. Never settle for anything less than the best.
