Studio - 435 sqft
This is my take on an affordable and sustainable mini house design. At roughly 430 square feet it is a little larger than a tiny house while having more amenities. It is designed to have high energy and materials efficiency while also being simple enough for a relatively inexperienced crew to build under the guidance of one or two professional carpenters.
The houses would be built in clusters of between four and eight with a common building. This would house a shared washer and dryer as well as a hub for power and networking. Budget allowing there would be a 7 to 10kw grid tied solar and wind array connected here and shared between the houses. Ideally there would also be a good internet connection that can be shared between houses. One market that could be interested in this setup is remote workers who are looking to simplify their lives as well as live more affordably.
